Ocular Disease and Special Testing Service

This Service provides diagnosis, treatment and management of diseases and anomalies which affect the human eye and visual system. Medical care is provided throughout the week in conjunction with Primary Care. Specialized Testing procedures are scheduled Friday mornings.  We also provide ophthalmology consultations with our attending physicians, Board Certified Ophthalmologists, twice a month.

Our equipment is state-of-the-art and our services are exceptional.  The following technologies are available Special Testing:

• Scanning Laser Ophthalmoscopy (Heidelberg Retina Tomograph II) for optic nerve and retina analyses.
• Ultrasound A and B Scans
• Ultrasound Pachymetry
• Corneal Topography
• Threshold Visual Fields-FDT, SITA, SWAP
• Digital Imaging System for anterior and posterior photography with telemedicine capability

The majority of our patients are referred to the Ocular Disease and Special Testing Service through our Primary Care Service.  However, we do accept referrals for Special Testing and for ophthalmologic consults.  We are pleased to collaborate with optometrists in the community in the diagnosis and treatment of glaucoma. We are available to assist at whatever level of service that may be desired, from initial consultation or specific special testing using the technology available in our Center.
