Contact Lens Service

We provide comprehensive and complete contact lens services. The eye and vision system is examined to determine which type of contact lens is best suited for each patient's individual needs. We fit all available types of lenses: rigid and soft standard spherical lenses, lenses for astigmatism, and bifocal lenses. We also provide specialty services for more complex eye conditions or fitting challenges such as Keratoconus, and Post-surgical, Prosthetic and Pediatric fittings, as well as Orthokeratology (eye reshaping).

Contact Lens prescriptions are not filled if brought in from doctor offices outside of OCLA unless the patient receives a thorough exam by our interns.

A contact lens prescription will be released to the patient as required by law upon completion of the fitting process to ensure proper lens fit and adaptation to the lenses. A contact lens prescription will normally have a one year expiration date unless circumstances dictate otherwise.

Due to the complex nature of properly fitting contact lenses to each unique eye and the normal change in eye shape and prescription that occurs, it is imperative that contact lens wearers follow and comply with a regular schedule of progress visits. These visits ensure the continued good health of the patient's eyes and the proper fitting of their lenses. Annual eye health and vision examinations are recommended for all contact lens wearers. Special conditions and types of contact lenses may necessitate more frequent visits. The patient can be assured that their individual needs will specify the care program designed to optimally care for their unique eye and vision needs.

Contact Lens materials and/or replacements may be ordered as needed, provided that the contact lens prescription has not expired and the eyes are in good health. In the event that the contact lens prescription has expired, we strive to service the patient as quickly as possible.
